So this is an entry for Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiousities Volume III Challenge #5. It started off in a total different direction...a card, actually.....and then I happen to empty the old cigar box and lay it on my project table and the rest, as they say, is HISTORY! LOL!
The cigar box represents all the little boxes in our minds, I don't know about you but when I say "I'm filing it away" I envision a box in my head that I put the information into, then I tie it up with a bow and tuck it away in the darkness. Yes, i put a bow on my boxes....all are different colours. The background paper is watercolour paper that was stamped with Tim Holtz's "marble" background stamp. I used STAZ ON because I then went in with distress markers and coloured the swirls, spritzing them with water and then letting them dry. Once they were dry I would use the Tim Holtz distress marker spritzer and spray distress marker in small arcs to give detail.
The PIN (above)
Yes, it actually is a pin with a small paper clamp attached to the end. I embedded the pin in the wood and used a touch of E6000 to make sure it was secure. Then I rolled the paper back (two pieces of cardstock, backside is a yellow houndstooth from the same collection) just like FRANK GARCIA introduced at Prima's ARTVENTURE ANAHEIM 2014 (OMG....Fun beyond belief!!!) and don't even get me started on FRANK except to say he is an artist after my own heart!
